Reaching Out Project picks up Best Team award at Cosla Excellence Awards
A Community-based initiative aimed at regeneration two Aberdeenshire communities has been recognised at a national awards ceremony.
The Reaching Out project, which supports the development of community initiatives in Fraserburgh and Peterhead, scooped the Best Team award at COSLA Excellence Awards in St Andrews on 5th March. It also picked up a silver award in the Advancing Community and Citizen Well-being category. It was a night of success for Aberdeenshire Council as well as the picked up five bronze awards for a series of successful initiatives.
The Reaching Out project, developed under the umbrella of the Aberdeenshire Community Planning Partnership, is best known for its support of community initiatives and projects in the Fraserburgh and Peterhead areas.
- Skills increasing skills and/or removing barriers to employment
- Youth encouraging young people (aged12-18) take part in youth activities
- Health: promoting health related projects and activities to the local community
- Involving: supporting people to have their ideas heard within their community
Partners in the Fraserburgh project include BRIDGE CVS, Aberdeenshire Council, NHS Grampian, Grampian Fire & Rescue, Grampian Police, Aberdeen Foyer, Volunteer Centre Aberdeenshire and Link-up.
